With USA Network and the SYFY TV series, take on the “Child’s Play” movies Chucky ready to terrify our screens this fall, the creator of the franchise Don Mancini and star Jennifer tilly (Tiffany) has stepped up its game when it comes to offering fans updates on how production is going. The last time we checked in was during SYFY’s “Pride of Chucky” movie marathon, with the duo offering behind-the-scenes glimpses of the ongoing shoot as well as premium social media posts. Just in case you need a quick recap, Chucky focuses on the vintage doll (with the soul of famous serial killer Charles Lee Ray riding a shotgun) when she shows up at a suburban garage sale. Soon an idyllic American city is plunged into chaos as a series of gruesome murders begins to reveal the city’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies (and allies) from Chucky’s past threatens to reveal the truth behind the murders, as well as the demonic doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who is sort of become this notorious monster. So with that in mind, here’s a look at how things are going. In the first post, we get a live preview of Tilly in the middle of a camera test for the SYFY series. After that, Tilly shares a preview of “’Chucky’ Happy Hour” with a number of very familiar names and faces (many of which are listed below):

Zackary Arthur (Transparent), Teo Briones (ratchet), Alyvia Alyn Lind (Dawn), Björgvin Arnarson (The seventh day), Devon Sawa (Final destination), Jennifer tilly (reprising her role of Tiffany Valentine from the films), Fiona Dourif (reprising her role of Nica in the films), Alex vincent (the original Andy Barclay), and Christine Elise McCarthy (Kyle- Child’s Play 2, Cult of Chucky) star- with Brad Dourif come back to express the demonic doll.

An easy target for Chucky, Athrur’s Jake Webber is a loner who tries to find his place in the world after his mother dies without ever connecting with his father or peers. Junior Webber of Briones is the son of Bree and Logan and the cousin of Jake, a high performing American sportsman, as opposed to his lone cousin Jake. Lind’s Lexy Taylor is her school’s self-proclaimed princess and Jake’s main bully, who also dates his cousin Junior. Arnarson’s Devon Lopez is the boy next door and real crime junkie who is determined to make sense of the mysterious Hackensack tragedies, past and present. No details have been released on Sawa’s character as of yet (although “Still Reliable” Wikipedia lists the character as “Logan Webber”). Chucky is developed by Mancini, producer David Kirschner, and Antosca via its Eat the Cat banner. Harley peyton (Twin Peaks, channel zero) serves as executive producer. Mancini will work on the series three times, beyond his executive production responsibilities: writing the adaptation, showrunner and directing the first episode.
