Huawei launched its flagship P series in the Philippines, with the P50 Pocket hitting the local market as a foldable clamshell and the P50 Pro finally hitting shelves as the best camera phone Huawei has ever produced.
The recently unveiled Huawei P50 Pro is also the current king of smartphone photography in the latest DxOMark ranking, ahead Appleit is iPhone 13 Pro Maxanother phone that reviewers and users have praised for its imaging performance.
So it seems fair to pit these two high-end smartphones against each other and see which produces better images in an all-out shootout. Yes, it’s time for another round of blind camera testing, this time with the Huawei P50 Pro and Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Both are at the top of their class and priced to match their high-end looks and high-end specs. This year, Huawei opted for a True-Form Dual-Matrix camera system on the back, consisting of two dedicated cameras for color quality and accuracy; a 64-megapixel telephoto lens; and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide option. It is still designed in partnership with Leica. The iPhone, on the other hand, packs a triple camera array, consisting of three 12-megapixel rear cameras, identical to the top-end 2020 model.
As usual, we put two photos taken on the two flagships side by side, and you can decide which image looks more appealing to you based on your personal preferences. After submitting your choices, you’ll know which camera-centric flagship best suits your vibe. To be fair to both devices, the photos used in this camera test were selected based on a variety of lighting conditions and real-world usage scenarios.

If you ask us, we think photos taken on the Huawei P50 Pro look better, especially with close-to-life colors. With the P50 Pro, what you see is essentially what you get – and it’ll always earn you high marks in our books.
But again, the photo selection process is subjective. What we like and what you like may be different. Ultimately, it’s up to your particular preference when choosing between each set of photos.
Would you like to tell us which flagship product you ended up with?
